On 18 February 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy and other embassies and high commissions of ASEAN member countries in Canberra took part in setting up booths in “ASEAN Village” in Ainsley Place, Canberra, to showcase and provide information on rich cultural heritage of the ASEAN countries, as part of the 2023 National Multicultural Festival (NMF) hosted by the government of ACT.
On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand, joined other Ambassadors and High Commissioners of ASEAN member states at the opening of the ASEAN Showcase. Mr. Andrew Bar, Chief Minister of ACT, was invited to preside over the opening together with Ambassador of Indonesia as the ASEAN Chair.
The ASEAN Showcase event was part of the activities organized by embassies and high commissions of the ten ASEAN countries in Canberra with the aim to promote understanding of cultural diversity in the multicultural capital city of Australia.
