Thai Festival 2019, Adelaide, South Australia

23 March 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs participated in Thai Festival 2019 at King Reserve, Torrensville, Adelaide, South Australia. The event was held for the second year by Thai-Australian Association of South Australia (TASSA) to celebrate Thai traditional water festival. The guests of honour were H.E. Hieu Van Le, the governor of South Australia and H.E. Nantana Sivakua, the Ambassador of Thailand. The festival was also attended by Team Thailand officials from Canberra and Sydney.

Office of Agricultural Affairs in cooperation with Tropical Fresh, an importer of Thai produces, showcased several tropical favorite fruits from Thailand i.e. durian, mangosteen and charcoaled coconut. Australian and Thai spectators were drawn to testing sweet and refreshing Thai fruits. Many Australians had a chance to try mangosteen for the first time and impressed with its unique and delicious taste. Apart from more than 40 Thai street food and merchandise stalls, spectators also enjoyed Thai traditional dances such as Khone and Thai boxing shows. There were over 8,000 attendees in the event who also looked forward to the next annual festival.
