30 – 31 March 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs participated in Thailand Grand Festival 2019 hosted by Royal Thai Consulate – Sydney at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney. The event was annually hosted to celebrate Songkran Water Festival, Thai New Year on lunar calendar. This year there was a special exhibition to pay tribute to “Tham Luang Rescue Operation” that saved lives of the Wild Boars Soccer Team in Chiang-rai. Spectators enjoyed Thai classical music and traditional dances as well as Thai food cooking demonstration and delicious Thai street food. Office of Agricultural Affairs in association with Tropical Fresh, an importer of Thai produces, showcased famous Thai tropical fruits. Golden Nam-dok-mai mango made its debut in Australia at this Festival. People enjoyed tasty and refreshing mangoes, durian, mangosteen and charcoaled coconut flown in directly from Thailand just one day prior to the event.
